Anita Lunn Calkins attended school in White Plains, NY. She graduated from high school in 1951. She attended Wells College in Aurora, NY and graduated in 1955 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She worked for a few months in New York City and then was married in 1956. After raising two children, she went back to school in 1970 to get her teacher’s certification in elementary education and taught fifth grade in the Bethlehem Area School District for 22 years, retiring in 1994.
