Mother was very badly burned by a trash fire as a young girl. She had to stay in bed for a year and learn to walk all over again. Her mother (Bomba) made her carry heavy books around in order to strengthen her arms, which were badly scarred. Mother loved her family and home. She had a very infectious laugh and a wonderful smile. It seemed she had a little quote or saying for every occasion. She enjoyed cards, and played bridge or canasta on Sunday afternoon, and had a hen ploker group which met Monday nights. For many years she was active in her church (First Presbyterian) and in Junior League. She passed away in May of 1967 of a malignant brain tumor.
