James Melchior Horn was born October 27, 1955, in Huntingdon, the sixth son and eighth child of John Chisolm and the late Solveig (Wald) Horn. He was educated in the Juniata Valley Schools where he was a member of the varsity basketball team. As a member of St. James Lutheran Church, he frequently served as a lay reader and was a faithful member of the church choir. Jim received his bachelor's degree in communication at the Florida State University, Tallahassee Fla. While there, he was deeply involved in campus Lutheran affairs and was also an announcer - disc jockey on the college radio station. Upon his graduation in 1977, he was employed as an announcer - disc jockey on a Sarasota, Fla., radio station, later moving to a similar position in Pikesville, Ky.
He is survived by his father, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of the Robert I. Grove Funeral Home of Alexandria.
