Mr. Hornbeck, a lifelong and prominent resident of Allentown who rose from the position of clerk in the Lehigh Valley Trust Company to its Vice Presidency, was born August 6, 1881, the son of Henry and Leanna Diehl Hornbeck, and died September 22, 1948. As a young man he was the treasurer of St. John's Lutheran Sunday School and later served as vestryman in Christ Lutheran Church. He had been President of the Livingston Club and was also Vice Chairman of group 8, Pennsylvania Bankers Association. His first wife, the former Florence Bittner, died some years ago and in 1943 he married the former Helen Guerber, who survives, with four children of his first wife, Henry L., Ruth Roehrig, Miriam McFadden and Marjorie Bogert.
