George Lazarus, a son of Daniel and Elizabeth (Paul) Lazarus, was born 11/1/1799. died 6/3/1883; he was a farmer by occupation, having been the owner of a part of the old homestead, comprising 130 acres. His barn was destroyed by lightning in 1837. In the same year he built a new barn. In politics he was a Republican, and held the office of school director, and assessor of Hanover Township. He was a member of the Lutheran congregation of the Shoenersville church, which he served as deacon, elder, and trustee. He was married to Elizabeth Miller, a daughter of Henry and Barbra (Schreiber) Miller. She was born 10/30/1803, and died 3/3/1845.
