Item also gives date of marriage (1719) to wife Maria Sarah and place of marriage as Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany. Rob. Turpin, Master; Genealogical Publishing Co., Baltimore, 1980. !HISTORY: Philip was the eldest of four men (and family members) who were aboard the Loyal Judith who are believed to be related. The others were Peter, Hans Jerg, and Michael. Edward Raub believed them to be brothers. Meiser and the Shoemaker book say that Philip was the father of the other three. Meiser seems to base his finding on the Shoemaker study which appears in error concerning Peter's arrival in America. It does not have him aboard the Loyal Judith (identified as Peter Rausch) but aboard the Ship Harle, arriving 1 Sep 1736 and identified as Peter Roope. This arrival date is not possible if one believes the records of the Williams Twp Community Church which shows a son Michael born to Peter Raupp and wife Susanna on 17 Apr 1733. This was the first birth shown in the church records and is also reported in the Shoemaker book. This research/genealogist (Robert Raup) concludes (as of 10 Jul 1994) that Philip was likely the father of Hans Jerg and Michael and a brother of Peter. This conclusion is based primarily on the ages of the four men. Peter was married with children upon arrival. Hans Jerg and Michael were single and likely to have accompanied parents on the voyage. If children of Philip they were of an earlier wife and not Maria Sara since the IGI gives a marriage date of 1719. Meiser states that Philip is believed to have been born in Zwiebrucken, Germany. This does not agree with the IGI source referenced above and no source for this statement is given. Little is recorded concerning Philip except his entering of 130 acres land on 27 Jun 1738 in Springfield Twp, Bucks County near Durham Creek. He conveyed this property on 19 Feb 1753 to his youngest son Andrew. He died in Dec. 1753. !BURIAL: Probably St.Paul's Blue Church cemetery near Coopersburg, Lehigh County where his wife and daughter are buried.This info was researched in 1975 and paid for b y Charles Boyd of London Terrace Towers, 470 West 24 street, New York City, NY 10011. The pas tor of the Evangelical pfarramt of Blankenloch and Karlsruhe did the research. Charles Boyd s hared this research with me in 1975. Rumor has it that Phipip Raub lived in Zweibrucken, Alsace lorraine, Germany , but this has n ot been proven. Philip Raub was supposed to have lived in Durham furnace, bucks Co., Pa, USA. Philip Raub arrived in America bef 1732 on the ship LOYAL JUDITH. Philips age was given as 5 1 on the passenger list.
