Moran Vincent Trexler (99) passed into the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Good Friday, April 14, 2017, after a brief illness. Surviving are his three children: Frederick (Valerie), Bonne (Jaak) Aulik, and Christine (Ross) Anderson; 8 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Vincent was born November 10, 1917 in Topton, PA. In 1939 he graduated with a BS in chemical engineering from Lehigh University (PA), where he was inducted into Tau Beta Pi honorary engineering fraternity. After marriage to Louise Kauffman on July 10, 1940, the couple moved to NJ. During WWII years he worked in a critical chemical industry for Westvaco Company, becoming a specialist in phosphates. After FMC Corporation acquired Westvaco, this expertise led to his job as a technical sales representative. Vincent’s office was located in the Chrysler Building in New York City when he was not traveling by plane on numerous business trips. He always returned from these assignments with exciting gifts in his suitcase for his children to anticipate. During summers of 1954 and 1955 he and Louise drove their family on two extensive western camping trips. They have always been enthusiastic travelers and boaters with far-ranging adventures that included living on a 33-foot sailboat, where the white-bearded navigator earned his name “Captain Vince.” The year 1969 brought early retirement, enabling Vincent to work full-time as treasurer of Delta Lake Camp and the NE District of the C&MA in Rome, NY, where he remained for 5 years. Next he served in the Finance Office at Toccoa Falls College in GA for several years. Later the couple wintered in FL, eventually retiring permanently to the sunny south. Vincent’s last years at Good Samaritan Village, Kissimmee, capped a very full life.
