Daniel M. Bauer, an aged and respected resident of Long Swamp, near Shamrock, died on Thursday morning at his home there, aged 73 years, 7 months and 9 days, of general debility. Mr. Bauer was the son of the late John and Catherine, nee Mattern, Bauer, and was born in Lower Macungie township. He was a faithful member of the Long Swamp Lutheran church, and is survived by his widow, Marietta, nee Haas, one daughter and two sons, Mrs. Jacob Bortz; Morris D. Bauer and Dr. John M. Bauer, all of this city. Five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held on Monday afternoon, September 24, at 1.30 o'clock, with services at the late home, near Shamrock. Interment in Long Swamp church cemetery.
