Doris Virginia Haines, 69, of Charlottesville, Va., formerly of East Greenville, died Thursday, Aug. 21, in Charlottesville. She was the wife of Bernard "Hank" Haines.

A graduate of Purdue University School of Pharmacy, West Lafayette, Ind., she was a registered pharmacist in Pennsylvania.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Norman James and Mae Meschter (Kriebel) Kuhns.

She was a founder and president of the Alumni Chapter of Sigma Kappa Sorority at the University of Virginia.

Survivors: Husband; daughters, Melissa Jean of Richmond, Jennifer Louise McGahan of Ellicott City, Md.; brother, Edmund of East Greenville, and three grandchildren.
