PHILIP EGLE, b. 1758, in Lancaster County, Pa.; d. 1822, in Rowan County, N. C. He served several tours in the Lancaster county battalions of associators and militia. At the close of the struggle for independence he removed with probably all of his father's family to Rowan County, N. C. He m. HANNAH LONG, d. 1832, in Maury County, Tenn.
