Joseph Jacob Albright b. September, 23, 1811, at Warwick, Lancaster county; d. January 12, 1888, at Scranton; was an early iron-master in Northampton county, Pa., and Botetourt county, Va.; afterwards removing to Scranton, Pa., where he was sales agent for the Delaware and Hudson Canal Company, president of a national bank, and a pioneer in the anthracite coal trade to the West; he m. Elizabeth Sellers; his children, Joseph J., of Buffalo; Henry, of Utica; Mrs. Raymond Bennell, and Mrs. James B. Archbald, of Scranton, in his memory, erected the Albrght Memorial Library Building, and presented the same to the city of Scranton.
