Gideon Sechler, son of Joseph, was an extensive farmer in Lynn township, having been born there Aug. 28, 1810. His homestead was upwards of 300 acres, and Frederick L. Pfeiffly now owns the part upon which there is a barn that he built in 1856. He died Sept. 1, 1861, aged 51 years. His wife was Maria A. Kistler, born Nov. 22, 1814, died March 20, 1890, in the 76th year of her age. She was a daughter of John Kistler, (commonly called "Stout" John), and they had eleven children.
