J. Walter Ziegenfus, one of Allentown's prominent citizens and president of the C. A. Dorney Furniture Company, died at she Allentown Hospital August 29, 1947, at the age of 69. His acquaintance with the furniture business was nationwide, having been his firm's buyer for many years. He was a director of the Allentown National Bank an was also widely known among Rotarians. An active member of the Presbyterian Church he served many years as elder and clerk of Sessions. For forty years he was a Director and for thirty-five years Secretary of the YMCA. He was born in Allentown, the son of Charles and Anna M. C. Romig Ziegenfus. His wife, the former Edna Schock, died in January, 1943. One daughter, Mrs. Madeline Z. Carman, survives, and two sisters, Helen Fisher and Mame E. Spang.
