Horatio Trexler was born in 1813, and died March 19, 1900. He operated iron furnaces from 1837 to 1869; removed to Reading in 1848, and in 1853 bought a fourth interest in Reading Iron Works, was president of the national Union Bank from 1873 to 1900; President of the Reading Gas Company from 1860 to 1900 and a member of St. James Lutheran Church. He married, first. Miss Hunter and had two daughters. Mrs. George B. Eckert, and Mrs. Henry M. Keim of Reading, and second, Mary L. Bell, who died Feb. 6, 1900.
