Misc. Notes
Jeremiah Trexler, the eldest son of Peter, the emigrant, secured land adjoining that of his father on the east, where he kept a tavern as early as 1732. In 1735, a road was laid out from his tavern through Zionsville, Shimersville, Hosensack and Kraussdale to Montgomery County. About 1760, he removed to Easton, where he was tax collector in 1768 and on Nov 1, 1776, became a member of the General Committee of Northampton County and at the meeting held the same day he was appointed a member of standing committee. He later sold his property at Easton and returned to Macungie Township, where he died in 1783.
