Charles William Grammes was born in Allentown October 17, 1870, the son of Louis F. and Eliza Weber Grammes, and died at his home in this city on May 7, 1948. He was President of L. F. Grammes & Sons, Inc., which had been founded by his father. Mr. Grammes was a lifetime member of Zion Reformed Church and had been President of its Board of Trustees. He had also been President of the Allentown-Bethlehem Children's Home, a member of the Board of Trustees of the YMCA, the County Crippled Children's Society and the Boys' Club of Allentown. He was survived by his wife, Marnie Ann Strauss Grammes, and his son Richard, as well as two brothers, Frank and Louis, and three grandchildren.
