Amandes Sieger, son of Samuel and Hattie Sieger, was born at Siegersville April 24, 1840. He receives his education at Allentown and at Mount Holly Academy, N. J. For a number of years he was engaged in the coal and lumber business, also in the mining and manufacturing of slate for roofing purposes. He was a member of the Democratic party and served two teams as a member of the slate legislature. In 1874 he was married to Catharine, a daughter of Peter Hendricks, of Union county. They had the following children: Virginia, Ann, Hattie and Bessie.
