George L. is associated with his father in the culture of fruit and vegetables. He was born Sept. 4, 1875. He attended the public schools of his township and a summer normal school, and subsequently taught one term in his native township. In 1893 he associated with his father in their present vocation. They cultivate a thick and fruit garden of eighteen and one-half acres. They also have a colony of twenty hives of bees. Like his father, he is a Democrat He is a member of Camp 378, P. O. S. of A., Guthsville, Pa., and superintendent of the Guthsville Union Sunday school since its organization, Easter, 1907, prior to which he was superintendent of the Jordan Lutheran Sunday school, of which congregation he is a member and at one time a deacon. Mr. Rex is an amateur photographer of more than ordinary ability, and a number of the cuts in this volume were made from photographs furnished by him. He also compiled much of the history of Guthsville. In 1898 he was married to Emma L. Diehl a daughter of Alfred and Emma (Sell) Diehl.
