John Adam Romig, third son of Frederick and Catharina (Siegfried) Romig, was born Nov. 27, 1741 He was a miller and farmer and removed from Macungie township to Upper Saucon about 1770. He died Sept. 27, 1798, and is busied at Friedensville Church. In his will, dated April 17, 1797, he bequeathed his wife the interest of £300, the eldest son 1-1/4 shares, each of the other sons, 1-1/8 shares, and each daughter, one share, of his estate. The mill in Upper Saucon. with 53 acres of land, was to be offered to his son. John, another tract to his son, Samuel, the tan-yard, dwelling house and one-half of the Kneppley place to his son, John Adam, the other half to Daniel and the mill and tract in Whitehall to his son. Peter. The Upper Saucon mill was located at what is now Centre Valley. John Adam Romig married, first. Catharine, daughter of Peter and Barbara Butz. She died about 1779. They had six children.
John Adam Romig married, second, Elizabeth Barbara, daughter of Frederick Newhard, of Whitehall Township. She was born April 3, 1753, and died July 24, 1838. They had nine children.
