John J. Kistler, a son of Jacob, was born in Lynn Township, and died in January, 1861, aged 58 years. He is buried at New Jerusalem church. He lived in the upper end of Kistler's Valley, where he had a large farm, which was his father's homestead. He was a member of the Lutheran Church, served various offices and was one of the organizers of the Lynnville Sunday school. He was married to Elizabeth Dietrich, a daughter of Michael Dietrich, of Klinesville. She died in December, 1892, aged 64 years.
