Daniel Egner, son of Thomas and Hannah (Wieder) Egner, was born Aug 8, 1836, in Upper Saucon township, Lehigh County. He was reared on the farm and attended the public schools. At the age of 25 years, he purchased a farm in his native township, where he remained until 1870, when he bought Young's Mill, operating it for 9 years. He then bought a farm of 60 acres which he operated for 30 years, when he retired and moved to Coopersburg. He married Lydia Mohr, daughter of Daniel and Rebecca Mohr (Shiffert) Mohr. Their children were: Benjamin, who died aged 26 years; and Emma Rebecca, married E. H. Kohr. They had a daughter, Eva May Kohr, who married A. Stanley Gerry, and has one child, Eldridge Stanley Gerry.
