Miss Laura M. Helman, a daughter of the late Abraham and Mary M. (nee Drum), Helman, and a native of Drums, died at her home in Catasauqua July 6, 1931. Her parents located at Catasauqua over forty years ago.

In 1884 Miss Helman became a teacher in the grade schools of Catasauqua and continued in the service of the locaischool district until 1906.

She was a genealogist of note and during her career compiled three hooks on family histories that have had wide circulation.

Miss Helman was a member of the Lehigh County Historical Society, the Huguenot Society and Liberty Bell Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. For a number of years she served as historian of Liberty Bell Chapter.

A devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church, she was a teacher in the infant department for many years, and was prominent in the Ladies' Aid Society and the Woman's Missionary Society.

Miss Helman is survived by three sisters, Susan W, wife of Councilman William H. Kildare, and the Misses Jennie S. and Lillian M. Helman, both at home, and one brother, George Helman, of San Antonio, Texas.
