Nathan Harter, son of Jacob, was born August 14, 1826. He had owned the Michael Harter homestead, and there followed farming all his life. He died in October, 1910, nearly 85 years old. He was a Republican and was school director and supervisor of Heidelberg Township. He also served the Lutheran congregation of Heidelberg church as deacon, elder and trustee. His wife, Carolina Blose was born May 15, 1827, and died November 29, 1892, in the 66th year of her age. They had three children, namely: Anna (m. Nathan Handwerk), Francis W., and Henry M.
