Jonas, the fourth son of his father, was born in1813 in Maxatawny township. He was a tailor near Spring Creek Creamery and later near New Smithville where he became a farmer and brick manufacturer. He and his family were Reformed members of the Maxatawny Church. He married Anna Steininger, a daughter of George Steininger. She died, aged 75 years. He died at Allentown in 1901 in. his 89th year.
