From The Louisiana Planter and Sugar Manfacturer, May 2, 1914: "Mr. Robert S. Kent, mechanical engineer, has moved from the Mechanics’ Bank Building, to the new office building just completed, at 50 Court Street, Brooklyn, N. Y. During the last two years, Mr. Kent has designed and erected parafine [sic] filtering plants for the following oil companies. The Standard Oil Company, at Bayonne, N. J., the Magnolia Petroleum Company, Beaumont, Texas, the Pierce-Fordyce Oil Association, Texas City, Texas, and the Waters-Pierce Oil Company, of Tampico, Mexico. He has also designed syrup filtering plants for Meade, Johnson & Co., of Jersey City, and Gould, Free & Ash for Honolulu, Hawaii. In addition to the above he has made preliminary designs for two sugar refineries of 700,000 pounds per day capacity, and had is now erecting, a sugar refinery for 750,000 capacity at St. John, New Brunswick, for the Atlantic Sugar Refineries, Ltd., of Montreal, Canada. For a number of years Mr. Kent was engineer for the Arbuckle Brothers Sugar Refinery in Brooklyn." [1]
