Wilmer W. Anewalt, eldest son of John C, was born at Catasauqua, 2116/1857. He was educated in the public and high schools of Allentown and as a young man became a clerk in the hat store of Anewalt& Brother. In 1891 he formed a partnership in the hat business with his brother, Lewis L., and continued in this business until his death on 6/3/1899, which was caused by injuries sustained in a trolley car accident while on his way home from business. Mr. Anewalt was a member of St Paul's Lutheran church, and in politics a Republican. He married 3/8/1877, Lorraine, daughter of Abraham and Esther (Kemmerer) Worman of Allentown. They had two sons, Charles L., and John A., who conduct a hat store at 615 Hamilton St. Under the firm name of Anewalt Brothers.
