Dr. Ulrich was born in Lebanon county, April 19, 1820, and after mastering the elementary branches of English learning became a student in Princeton College of New Jersey, where he pursued a classical course and won the degree of Master of Arts. He afterward studied medicine and was a graduate of the Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia. Following his preparation for the practice of medicine and surgery, he was an active representative of the profession in Reading for a number of years.
