William Mickley Weaver, was superintendent of the Lock Ridge Furnace from October 16, 1873, to April 7, 1877. William M. Weaver was born July 18, 1851, in Catasauqua, the son of Valentine Weygandt Weaver and Mary (Mickley) Weaver. He received his early education in local schools and at Williamsport; then, at the age of 18 or 19 he entered the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia to study mechanics and remained there for three years. In 1873, he assumed the superintendency of the Lock Ridge Furnaces, succeeding his father. He was then only 22, making him the youngest furnace superintendent in Pennsylvania up until that time. After less than four years at Lock Ridge, he moved to Macungie to succeed his father as superintendent until his tragically early death on March 19, 1890 at the age of 38.

William M. Weaver while at Alburtis assisted in organizing and establishing the Presbyterian Church and he continued his membership and support until his death. He took an early interest in photography and became the first amateur photographer of distinction in Lehigh County.
