The Rev. EDWARD TRAIL HORN, JR., A.M., D.D. was born in Charleston, South Carolina, September 23, 1887, son of the Rev. Dr. Edward T. and Harriet Chisolm Horn.
He was graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1907, Yale University, 1908, and the Philadelphia Seminary, 1911, following which he was called by the General Council Board of Foreign Missions for service in Japan, and was ordained by the Mimisterium of Pennsylvania. He served as a missionary in Japan, and as a faculty member of the seminary in Tokyo until the end of 1941. He then served Trinity Church, Canton, Ohio, 1942-46; as chaplain and head of the Department of Religion and Philosophy at Muhlenberg College, 1946-1952, and as pastor of the Tannersville Parish, 1952-61, when he retired. He died in Allentown on August 7, 1966.
The funeral was held in St. John's Church, Allentown, on August 11, followed by interment in Grandview Cemetery, Allentown. He was survived by his wife, the former Laura Rossiter, eight children and 25 grandchildren.
