EXPERIENCE

Currently with Key Bank, Cleveland, OH

2004 to 2007 Noteworthy Medical Systems Systems Engineer

1-03 to 2004 Compuware Inc. J2EE consultant

1996-2002 BP Oil Company – London UK Senior Developer/Team Leader
Specially selected member of a small elite team of US senior developers expatriated to London in order to work alongside 100+ world class system professionals to develop and enhance BP's enormous bespoke ERP system. Although already installed in 40 countries, the system required significant enhancement in order to handle US business.

Responsible for upgrading the rudimentary, Euro-centric tax and pricing modules to handle the subtle and complex US business scenarios. Analyzed requirements, proposed many innovative and practical solutions, wrote detailed technical specifications, coded and implemented significant and fundamental changes to the system using C/ProC, Oracle, Uniface, and Unix shell scripting.

Seconded to Oracle Corporation for over a year as part of a deal allowing them to develop Oracle Energy Downstream (OED), a marketable integrated application system for the oil business based on BP's bespoke ERP system. Again, I was one of two senior developers handpicked to work alongside Oracle's application developers to generalize the functionality and to change from character based screens to GUI using Oracle tools including Developer 2000, Designer 2000, C/ProC and PL/SQL.

Conceived, obtained business sponsors, designed, and led the development of a J2EE web service to calculate all sales and excise taxes applicable to sales transactions and product movements for 28 different countries accessible by web applications as well as legacy ERP systems. This was one of four "showcase projects" selected by senior management to prove BP's new transformation program, a strategy to integrate BP's ERP with SAP and JD Edwards using J2EE components and Vitria middleware. The strategy addressed the heterogeneous system mix resulting from BP's rapid acquisitions of Amoco, Arco, and Castrol.

Seconded to Commerce One in Ann Arbor, Michigan US for the first phase of this project to function as Senior Developer/Team Leader for a group of five J2EE developers and was the only BP employee on-site throughout this highly visible project. Obtained in-depth experience in building web enabled enterprise applications using Java J2EE, XML, Oracle/JDBC, Unix, JSP, servlets, BEA Weblogic application server, CleareCase, JBuilder, Vitria including custom java connectors, object oriented design using Rational Rose and UML, and Rational Unified Process (RUP).
